Taken from Steve's last post:
"I have the additional privilege of being able to come here with just my guide dog for company and I get to write and my dog gets to paint--the way dogs do when they have the time."
"Ouch" I say. Hmmmmm. Perhaps he should think about rephrasing that? Blue Girl? Jennifer? What do you think? Georgia...where are you Georgia? Oh, and I wonder what TheQueen would have to say if her husband had said this?
It hasn't happened very often in the past seven years but every now and then Steve and I get to rendezvous up there on Lake Winnipesaukee. The idea is that once we have an empty nest (soon!) then perhaps this will happen more often. Unless, of course, I'm intruding on the man and his dog bonding thing going on.
Let's see, the last time we were up there together was in 2005...
Come to think of it - that was the last time that MY bathing suit burst into flames...Ellen, I thought it was just me!

Hi Connie,
I have to admit that I noticed that little passage right away when I read your post early this morning.
Now, I've never had the privilege of meeting Steve. But, from what I can tell, he's a good egg -- a lot like The Skimmer. And occassionally good eggs crack up a little bit without realizing it.
That being said, it still doesn't mean that you cannot be relentless about it. RELENTLESS! You can "use" that! Oh boy! Can you ever use it *for a long time.* At the most opportune (for you) and inopportune (for Steve) times.
You have been given a great gift, Connie. Do not waste it.
I envy you.
LOL!

Should've been "read "Steve's" post", but I'm sure you knew that...

"Why don't you just marry your dog, then?"
That's my new retort to anything offensive the husband says. "Ellen, hurry up, these people behind you in line have to wait!" "Why don't you just marry them, then?" I'm sure at some point I can shorten it to "Marry them."

BG, I wonder how quickly my good old egg can scramble in flip flops!

To TheQueen - I think you may be on to something. He's sounding worried now... :)

Hah! He will watch his step from now on.
