VOTE! Weblog Awards 2006

Check out The Weblog Awards page and you'll learn they

"are the world's largest blog competition, with over 1 million votes cast in the last three years for nearly 1,000 blogs. This year's edition is the biggest ever with 45 categories to choose from. Nominations ended November 24, and voting began December 7 and will end December 15."

I'm new enough to the blogosphere that I still have much to discover but I do know enough about Le Blogue Bérubé to vote for it as "Best Educational Blog" and Shakespeare's Sister to vote for her as "Best Liberal Blog". I'll have to look through the rest of the categories to determine if I'm familiar enough with others to vote -- and I'd like to encourage YOU to do the same! But do it soon!

I hope I don't sound bitter though as I share this thought with you, dear readers:

I can't help but wonder if these blogs would have done as well this year had Lance Mannion promised *this* to them. For all I know, we would have been nominated for a Best Blog award ourselves had it not been for, as Steve put it, this "unthinking, nay, even glib 'frisson' by Mr. Gaffe Mannion."

OK, perhaps I do sound a tad bitter. Can you blame me?

I was a judge for the 2006 Weblog Awards. I don't recall what category you were nominated in. Perhaps I did not judge that category.

Oh, thank you kind bloggers.

First, to whomever nominated us for the BOTDA: *hugs, kisses, winks and nods* (not necessarily in that order).

And to the judge who just wrote in, thank you, but I was just teasing Mr. Lance Mannion. We're actually two of his most admiring fans. We've not been nominated for a Weblog Award. But who knows what next year will bring!
